The local government of San Carlos City sets up air purifier/humidifier and UVC sterilization box with timer in the different offices situated inside and outside the city hall to prevent further spread of virus in the workplace.

Atty. Ma. Chat Delima-Cordero, Office for Human Resource Management Head, said the UVC sterilization boxes being put outside the offices with numerous outgoing and incoming documents help sanitize documents entering every office while air purifiers placed in government offices with air conditioners only help filter the inside air for a healthy quality flow of air.

A total of 90 units of air purifier/humidifier and filters amounting to P995,400 were purchased by the local government. The fund was taken from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office/COVID-19 Fund while the 30 units of UVC sterilization box with timer budgeted at P49,400 was funded thru the P77M Bayanihan Grant to Provinces program of the national government.

Cordero added that the city government bought these equipment for the protection of employees. She urged fellow government employees to be responsible enough and help the government in its battle against COVID-19 by obeying health protocols especially inside the workplace.

“We have several issuances on safety measures. All we need to do is cooperate and follow them. Let us help each other in this fight,” she added.

Said installation of air purifiers and sterilizers sprung from the recent increase of COVID-19 positive cases in the city including government workers among the different departments being infected thru local transmission.

The city now has 111 active cases, 122 recoveries and 10 deaths out of the total 243 positive cases.
