The city government of San Carlos extended help to Sipalay City and Municipalities of Ilog and Cauayan in the Sixth District of Negros Occidental, February 1 after said areas were reportedly devastated by super Typhoon Odette late last year.
A total of four trucks loaded with essential goods which include cans of sardines, bottled water and sacks of rice were delivered to said areas, said Charlen Pol Bistis-Anlap, Admin Officer III of the City Mayor’s Office.
Used clothing collected from the local Department of Education and private individuals were also added to the distributed goods.
Anlap said that said donation is part of the city’s commitment to assist other localities in times of calamity while also providing cash assistance and various goods to local beneficiaries due to the said typhoon and the fire that also broke out in the city.
She also said that donations such as hygiene kits, rice, canned-goods, bottled water and used clothing are still welcome thru the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The city already distributed essential goods to the Cities of Kabankalan and Ilog last December of 2021 which were also badly hit by Odette.
