Bacolod City Vice Mayor Elcid Familiaran clarified that resorts within the city are not yet authorized to operate under the current quarantine condition.

The vice mayor issued this clarification after the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has ordered beach resort owners in Brgy. Pta. Taytay to shutdown its operation, yesterday. A total of 11 resorts were advised to close their shop after it was found out that they are operating without any permit or exemption from the city or the Department of Tourism.

Familiaran explained that under the guidelines for General Community Quarantine, resorts are not allowed to operate.

Meanwhile, restaurants and food operators at the viewing deck are authorized to operate provided that they observe minimum health protocols. Under the government’s quarantine guidelines, restaurants may operate in GCQ areas at 50% capacity.
