Prov’l agri turns over tilapia, bamboo to San Carlos

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) – Negros Occidental turned over Red Tilapia and Giant Bamboo to the city thru the People’s Park Management Office (PPMO), January 21 at People’s Park.

PPMO Head Dr. Archilles Ponferrada received total of 1,000 Red Tilapia fingerlings and 20 giant Bamboo propagules from OPA representatives Arnel Magbanua, Aqua Cultural Technologist, Sheryl Sellado Farm Yourism Coordinator and Franklin Rodriguez, Local Legislative Assistant I.

Magbanua gave few tips on what type of food to feed the fish and some ways to keep them live longer.

Ponferrada on the other hand thanked OPA especially Gov. Eugenio Lacson for sharing these fish and bamboo to the city from the province. He said that the Tilapia will serve as decorative fish in a pond called “Ang Busay” inside the People’s Park while the bamboo will be planted to add to the greenery in the park.

He also said that he is planning to add more fish in another area inside the park called “Du Pont” that will serve as a fishing activity for the tourists and residents.
