An emergency power interruption hits 2 cities and 2 towns in Northern Negros past lunch of April 6, the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) confirmed in an advisory.

The power outage has affected the entire service areas of Sagay City, Escalante City, and Toboso, as well as a portion of Calatrava. No specific time was provided for the restoration of power as of posting time.
NONECO has identified the cause of the interruption as a detached insulator on the 69kV Cadiz-Escalante transmission line, specifically located at Sitio Toril, Poblacion I, Sagay City.
“Our NONECO Warriors of Light are already on-site and are working diligently to repair the issue and restore power as soon as possible,” NONECO said in its advisory.
The power provider expressed its sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected power outage and thanked its consumers for their patience and understanding.
