A couple who resides in Pontevedra town are currently on quarantine with their swab samples up for testing for the new variant of COVID-19, the COVID-19 Task Force of Pontevedra confirmed.
The couple who were from London and travelled via Istanbul last December 30, 2020 arrived in Bacolod via Air Asia last Saturday, January 16, 2021, and underwent the mandatory swabbing and tested positive of COVID-19. Both, however, are asymptomatic and no reported underlying conditions.
The town task force is now doing a contact tracing and isolated those who were in close contact with the couple.
Based on the bulletin released by Pontevedra, both tested negative of the deadly virus when they were previously swabbed upon their arrival in Manila.
The couple also decided to underwent an additional 16 days strict hotel quarantine in Manila while they await for the approval of their return in the province.
