Police authorities confirmed the recovery of the body of Pearl Joy Galve, a grade 10 student from Sum-ag National High School, who went missing 2 weeks ago.

The decomposing body was found at Hda. San Roque, Brgy. Cubay in La Carlota and was identified by her mother, Jennifer Galve.

The Grade 10 student of Sum-ag National High School in Bacolod City has been missing since July 29, baffling her family as to how she ended up in La Carlota.

The heartbroken mother positively identified the remains through a pair of checkered white shorts and white shoes, which she confirmed belonged to her daughter. The victim’s white outerwear was too decomposed to be identified.

The body was discovered by a hacienda worker inside a farm with duct tape on the victim’s face. According to authorities, the body is estimated to have been there for more than a week.

The La Carlota City Police Station is now coordinating with the family and conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of death and identify the perpetrators behind the heinous crime.
