The Philippine National Police (PNP) broke ground for the new police headquarters for Silay police yesterday, February 15.
The new police headquarters, which will be located adjacent to Bureau of Jail Management Penology and the Bureau of Fire Protection, will replace the 73 years old existing building of Silay PNP.
The construction of the new police headquarters is expected to take a year, and it is estimated to cost around P15.4 million. Budget for its construction was taken from General Appropriation fund of 2023.
The cremonial ground breaking was attended by PNP Region 6 director PBGen Leo Franciso, Negros Occidental Police Office chief PCol Leo Pamittan and Silay Mayor Joedith Gallego.
In his message, Francisco said the new police headquarters will be a symbol of their commitment to serve and protect the public. With this new facility, we will be able to work more efficiently and effectively to maintain peace and order in the entire city of Silay, he added.
