Phil Army on standby to augment rescue ops for Odette

Personnel of 303rd Infantry Brigade, 3ID, Philippine Army under the leadership of Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, Brigade Commander, and its line battalions are already in alert stance in preparation for Tropical Storm Odette.

Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander alerted the Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Response (HADR) teams from the 303rd Infantry Brigade, 62nd Infantry Battalion, 79th Infantry Battalion, and 94th Infantry Battalion composed of regular soldiers to be deployed in the 1st to 5th districts of Negros Occidental and 1st & 2nd districts of Negros Oriental.

All military personnel trained for disaster response operations are ready for deployment in the provinces of Negros Occidental and Oriental. They are also augmented by reservists and auxiliary ready reserve units. The 303rd Brigade also prepared its military field ambulance, military trucks, and utility vehicles to provide necessary transport assistance and in disaster response.

BGen Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander said, “Your army in Negros is in a high state of promptness, preparedness, and commitment. We are always ready and alert both in times of natural calamities and man-made disasters, especially in anticipation of TS Odette, since the lives and safety of people are the most important. Likewise, the attainment of this objective is dependent on the strong collaboration and cooperation of the local government units, other agencies, and stakeholders. Above all, let us keep our strong faith in GOD, our creator who will protect us all against any disaster.
