The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has announced that Victorias City will no longer serve as a host city for the highly anticipated FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025.
The decision, made public in a statement on Friday, Sept. 12, means that all matches for the tournament will now be held exclusively in Pasig City.
The PFF’s statement explained the move was a result of a “comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, and in light of the ongoing situations.” The federation added that the adjustment was made in line with the joint objective of FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to “streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint, ensuring the most efficient delivery of the event.”
Despite the change in venue, the PFF remains optimistic about the tournament’s success. “We are eager to showcase the passion of the Filipino people for the sport and invite everyone to celebrate women’s futsal on the global stage in Pasig City,” the statement concluded.
The FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 is a landmark event for the Philippines, marking the first time the country will host a FIFA tournament of this magnitude.
The first FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™ will kick off in the Philippines on November 21. The 16-team field for Philippines 2025 is complete, with players from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, IR Iran, Italy, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania and Thailand.
