The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 9 for most parts of Negros Occidental due to the continuous influence of the Southwest Monsoon.

The orange warning, which indicates serious flooding is expected, covers Bacolod, the whole of CHICKS district (6th district), Himamaylan City, towns of Binalbagan, Isabela, Hinigaran, Moises Padilla, San Enrique, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Valladolid and Murcia.

An orange warning is also raised in the northern portion of Negros Occidental covering the cities of Silay & Talisay, and the town of EB Magalona.

Residents in these areas are advised to be on high alert and take necessary precautions to avoid flooding.

PAGASA has also issued a yellow warning for other areas in Negros Occidental and Aklan, indicating that flooding is possible. The agency urges residents in these areas to be vigilant and monitor weather updates closely.

The heavy rainfall is expected to persist in the coming days, and PAGASA has advised local government units to be prepared for potential flooding and landslides.
