The P50 million in presidential aid for Kanlaon Volcano relief efforts in Negros Occidental is expected to sustain displaced residents for approximately two months, or until the end of the election season.
The budget from the national government covers food supplies and initial site development for permanent relocation, according to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said that the provincial government, has resumed their community kitchen support on Saturday, March 16, utilizing the funds to provide essential supplies to evacuees.
Allocations have also been earmarked for site development in La Castellana and Bago City, aiming to establish permanent relocation areas, Diaz added.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development on the other hand is currently providing P5,000 cash assistance to IDPs in La Castellana and La Carlota City, the long-term funding picture remains unclear.
However, the governor acknowledged the depletion of La Castellana’s quick response fund and stressed the urgent need for additional national government support.
