The Bacolod City government is offering P100,000 reward money for anyone that can provide authorities credible information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of a 17-year-old construction supply firm trainee.
The teenager was discovered dead on Wednesday afternoon, October 22, in a grassy area of the reclamation area in Barangay 12. A tricycle driver found the body, which was hogtied and stripped of its underwear, and immediately alerted the police. Bloodstains were also noted near the scene.
Capt. Francis Depasucat, Bacolod City Police Station 1 commander, stated that the official cause of death is still pending. The police are also working to determine whether the crime was committed at the reclamation area or if the body was dumped there.
Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya issued a strong statement Wednesday night, fiercely condemning the “cruel and despicable act” that took the life of the innocent teenager near the BREDCO Port area.
“What transpired is beyond reason and demands swift, decisive, and uncompromising justice,” Gasataya said, extending the city’s sincerest condolences and offering every possible form of assistance to the bereaved family.
The Mayor confirmed he has coordinated with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to ensure all resources are exhausted in the pursuit of the perpetrators.
“No one capable of such cruelty will ever find refuge in our city,” he declared.
