OWWA, other agencies hold leadership training for San Carlos OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region 6 conducted values formation and financial literacy cum leadership development training for the officers of the San Carlos City OFW Federation on August 25.

A total of 25 participants composed of presidents, vice presidents and board of directors of the OFW associations in Barangays 1, 2, 3,5, 6, Guadalupe, Rizal, Quezon, Codcod, Prosperidad, Buluangan, Palampas, San Juan and Ermita attended the seminar.

Salvacion S. Barrios, OFW Negros Occidental Federation Inc. president said the training is necessary for the new officers of the San Carlos City OFW Federation so they can manage their funds (large or small) well.

 
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo said that OFWs are taken cared of even those displaced especially during the pandemic since the OWWA and the local government units have been helping them.  

Said training was in partnership with the Banco De Oro (BDO) and coordinated with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and OFW Negros Occidental Federation Inc. where Rizza Joy M. Moldes, Officer-in-Charge of OWWA Region 6 and Maria Paz B. Meso, Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar Marketing Officer of Banco De Oro-Visayas were the resource speakers who talked about the values under pressure, five signs of financially broke, and BDO services.
