The Department of Health clarified that it is not authorized to issue COVID-19 swab results thru the government’s Freedom of Information portal.
The health department explained that test results cannot be requested through the portal as this constitute violation of the Philippine Data Privacy Act. It instead directs individuals who’d like to receive an update on their results to channel their follow-ups to the medical laboratory that took the swab test.
DOH issued this clarification after receiving numerous request for COVID-19 swab test result through the online FOI portal, http://foi.gov.ph
