Call centers operating in Bacolod are foregoing any physical parties this Christmas due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

City Administrator Em Ang said she feels relieved after hearing confirmation from different call centers in Bacolod that they are not sponsoring any physical gathering, be it on site or in any private venues.

During the virtual meeting called by Ang and was attended by officers from various BPOs, the industry leaders said that instead of a face to face event, they are hosting a virtual celebration this Christmas.

Call center operators Concentrix, iQor, Teleperformance and Transcom said that their HR teams are instead organizing a ‘virtual party’ which will be streamed live via Facebook, Zoom and other social media platforms.

Aside from cancelling their parties, most BPOs are also foregoing the annual Christmas meals, in buffet style, for their employees. This is in compliance with the health authorities guidelines were mass gathering is strictly prohibited.

According to Ang the BPO companies in the past are one of the biggest biggest spenders during Christmas with venues fully booked for their parties.

But despite of this, BPO employees arw still looking forward to various e-raffle.
