Residents in various areas in southern Negros Occidental are advised to brace for a 12-hour power outage on Sunday, January 28.
The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) announced the interruption, scheduled from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, to facilitate essential maintenance activities on a 69kV transmission line and the transfer of power between sub-stations.
The outage will impact the entirety of Pulupandan, Valladolid, San Enrique, Pontevedra, La Carlota, Binalbagan, Hinigaran, Moises Padilla, and parts of Himamaylan City, Cauayan, Sipalay City, and Hinoba-an.
During this period, NOCECO will be undertaking crucial tasks such as replacing wooden poles and removing the tubular conductor of the 69kV Bus 1 at the substation. These efforts aim to improve the overall reliability and efficiency of the power transmission network in the region.
While most affected areas will experience a 12-hour blackout, Kabankalan City will only face a one-hour power interruption, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
