NegOcc releases P2M for project FREE scholarship program

The Negros Occidental provincial government has released P2,085,750 to 997 grantees of the Project FREE Scholarship Program.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of stipends to the scholars at the Panaad Stadium on Monday, May 16. The distribution was facilitated by the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) led by Karen Dinsay.

The scholars are public school teachers from the different cities and municipalities of the province.

Project FREE, or Flagships to Reach Educational Excellence – Paglaum Program, is an initiative of the Provincial Government, open to all public elementary and high school teachers in Negros Occidental who would like to avail of post-graduate studies.

It is a partnership between the provincial government, University of St. La Salle – Bacolod, Department of Education, and the Commission on Higher Education.
