
More towns and cities in Negros Occidental will be affected by the expected shutdown of the National Grid Power Corporation’s (NGCP) Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV line on June 5.
In a statement, Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) said that some towns and cities under their coverage will also experience the 12-hour power outage from 6AM-6PM.
This will include the whole of Valladolid, Pulupandan and San Enrique towns.
In La Carlota City, only the following barangays will not be affected: Brgys. La Granja, Haguimit, Yubo, Ara-al, San Miguel, Balabag, Nagasi & Cubay.
The towns of Pontevdra and Hinigaran are also affected except for Brgys. Zamora & Mabini in Pontevedra.
The most of communities within Bacolod City would likewise be affected by the half-day power outage, according to Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO).
The shutdown of the transmission lines is in line with the ongoing Cebu-Negros-Panay 230kV Backbone Project.
