Residents in multiple towns and cities across Negros Occidental will experience 12 hours power outage on June 28 due to multiple maintenance activities of the 2 major power distribution providers in the province.
According to separate announcements from the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) and the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO), maintenance activities will require temporary power shutdowns affecting wide areas of their coverage.
NOCECO: 12-Hour Outage from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
NOCECO has scheduled a 12-hour power interruption from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the following areas:
- Whole municipalities of Binalbagan, Isabela, Moises Padilla, and La Castellana
- Parts of La Carlota City: Barangays Haguimit, Yubo, and portions of La Granja
- Parts of Pontevedra: Barangays Zamora and Mabini
- Parts of Himamaylan City: Barangays Talaban, Aguisan, Sara-et, Nabali-an, Cabanbanan, Libacao, Cabadiangan, and Carabalan
- Most of Hinigaran, except Barangays Miranda, Camalobalo, Anahaw, Tuguis, Baga-as, and portions of Gargato
The extended outage is part of NOCECO’s ongoing system maintenance and reliability improvement efforts.
NONECO: 8-Hour Interruption in Victorias City from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Meanwhile, NONECO has also announced a scheduled power interruption in several parts of Victorias City. The affected areas include:
- Canetown Subdivision, Brgy. 19-A
- Bacayan and Pusod Gamay in Brgy. 19
- Par 5, Brgy. 18-A
- New Barrio in Brgy. 17 and Brgy. 16-A
The outage is due to line clearing along the 3-phase distribution line in the vicinity of Canetown Plaza, Credit Union, and the Cathedral.
