The continuous rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) have affected over 65,000 individuals in Negros Occidental.

According to Irene Bel Ploteña, head of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD), a total of 18 local government units (LGUs) have been impacted by the heavy rainfall as of 7 PM on Sunday, September 15.
The affected LGUs include La Carlota, Bago, Moises Padilla, San Enrique, Pontevedra, Sipalay, Hinoba-an, Isabela, Cauayan, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Valladolid, Ilog, Pulupandan, Kabankalan, Murcia, La Castellana, and Himamaylan.
Out of the 18 affected LGUs, 120 barangays have been affected, resulting in 20,760 families or 65,150 individuals being affected.
As of 2 PM today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has maintained a yellow rainfall warning for the following areas in Negros Occidental: Bago City, Pulupandan, Valladolid, La Carlota City, Pontevedra, La Castellana, Hinigaran, San Enrique, Murcia, Bacolod City, Talisay City, Silay City, Enrique B. Magalona, Victorias City, Manapla, and Cadiz City.
