Megaworld Corporation, the pioneer of integrated townships in the country, opened its eight-lane Upper East Avenue which connects the Lopez Jaena Street to Circumferential Road on April 29.

Highlighting the opening of the 1-kilometer thoroughfare is the official announcement of Megaworld that it is increasing its investment in the 34-hectare township to P45 billion.

Among those planned at the Upper East aside from the condominium units are the construction of BPO towers to support the growing demand in the IT-BPM industry, a high-end McDonald store and a mall.

Gracing the event is the Honorable Mayor of Bacolod City, Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia together with Vice President for Megaworld Visayas, Ms. Jennifer Palmares-Fong.

On April 30, Megaworld is also inviting the public to enjoy life to the fullest with your furry friends for the first Pet Blessing and Fashion Show happening from 4PM-6PM at The Upper East.

Leonardia thanked the Megaworld management headed by its founder and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Tan for heeding Bacolod City’s call for support to its post-COVID economic recovery program by initially investing P35 billion for its various development initiatives in Bacolod and the province.

“But what is more interesting and exciting for Bacolodnons is the latest news that the real property giant will add fresh investments in the city to ramp up its various construction projects within the Upper East area,” said Leonardia. The real estate developer is set to announce this big surprise at the opening.

“We would like to express our deep appreciation to Mr. Andrew Tan for heeding Bacolod’s call that the company pour in more investments in the city. They have been keeping their commitment of support and we sincerely thank them for that,” Leonardia said.
