Sidrey Mel Aldeguer Flores, a graduate of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod and the topnotcher in the March 2023 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination, plans to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor by enrolling in medical school.

Flores, who achieved a rating of 92.10% and the top spot in the licensure examination, said that he did not expect to be the number one as he only aimed for any spot in the top 10. He said preparation for the board examination was holistic, which included physical, mental, and spiritual aspects, along with leisure and exercise.

Flores, a son of Villamonte Barangay Captain Rommel Flores stressed the importance of self-belief in achieving one’s goals.

He graduated as a salutatorian in elementary school and valedictorian in high school at the University of St. Salle, and was the first summa cum laude medical technologist graduate from CSA-B.

On his Facebook page, Flores expressed his gratitude to God for his achievement, acknowledging that it seemed impossible to claim the highest spot in the board that many coveted as a blood-fearing boy from the province.

Barangay Captain Flores said that he is proud of his son and grateful for God’s guidance. He described Sidrey as a humble and compassionate person, particularly towards those who are less fortunate in life.
