Mayor Evelio Leonardia denied claims that Bacolod City will br placed on total lockdown beginning Monday, January 10 due to surge in COVID-19 cases.
No truth to rumors of lockdown order for Bacolod City
The mayor said that talks spreading around are mere rumors, pointing out that the city remains under COVID-19 Alert Level 2 status.
The city mayor immediately issued a public advisory to address the baseless story circulating on social media.
“This is to inform the public that there is NO TRUTH to the rumors in Social Media that Bacolod City will be placed under a lockdown status starting January 10, 2022 in anticipation of the resurgence of COVID-19 cases post-holiday season,” Leonardia said.
“As such, no directive for a lockdown in Bacolod City has been issued by the National Inter-Agency Task Force. Please be guided accordingly,” Leonardia added.
