Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued an Executive Order today, November 17, which adopted the EO issued by Malacañang on the voluntary use of faceshield while the city is under COVID-19 Alert Level 2.

The mayor in his EO stressed: “Bacolod City being under Alert Level 2 per the system guidelines for COVID-19 response in pilot areas for the period from November 15, 2021 until November 30, 2021, and pursuant to the Memorandum of the President through the Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea, entitled “PROTOCOLS IN THE USE OF FACE SHIELD”, dated November 15, 2021, and in relation to Executive Order No. 53, Series of 2021, duly issued by the undersigned City Mayor on November 14, 2021, the use of face shield within the territorial jurisdiction of Bacolod City shall be voluntary or optional.”

He added that any previous EOS that are inconsistent to the recent guidelines are deemed repealed, modified and/or amended accordingly.

But he reiterated that mandatory use of faceshield is still required in areas under granular lockdown, quarantine and medical facilities.

Some establishments, including supermarkets and banks, yesterday still obliged their clients the use of faceshield pending clear guidelines from the city. It can be recalled that the city has passed previously an ordinance that required the useof faceshield when in public and enclosed places.
