Three big barangays in Bacolod City were identified by the Department of Health in Region 6 to have recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases as of this month.
The top 3 barangays were Mansilingan with 73 cases, Estefania with 69 cases and 61 cases in Taculing. But the DOH said there is no evidence to link these fresh cases to a new variant.
At present, Bacolod has a total of 665 active cases with 23 new cases reported yesterday afternoon. This places Bacolod under the moderate risk area for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, in Negros Occidental, the cities of San Carlos, Kabankalan and Cadiz recorded the most number of cases as of April 12.
The entire province of Negros Occidental on the other hand was tagged under the high-risk area after it recorded a 5.26 percent average daily attack rate per 100,000 population.
For April alone, the province recorded a total of 16 fatalities and a total of 2,073 active cases.
