The body of a man found in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, around 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 10, has been identified as an aeronautics student from Bacolod City.
The victim’s identity was confirmed by his uncle, Rodolfo Lasquete, to be Clyde Abaa, an aeronautics student and a resident of Barangay Granada, Bacolod.
According to Police Captain Honey Labaro, chief of the Murcia Municipal Police Station, Abaa’s body was discovered by a passerby in a sugarcane field.
Responding officers found that the victim had injuries to his legs, head, and a broken arm.
Police also recovered debris from a motorcycle, including a fender and a broken plate number, leading police to consider a traffic accident as a possible cause.
However, the absence of a recovered motorcycle at the scene has puzzled investigators.
Lasquete stated that his son and Abaa were together on Saturday night, traveling to Murcia on a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, Abaa reportedly borrowed the motorcycle to pick up a friend but never returned.
