Mambukal not re-opening soon

The provincial government has no immediate plans to re-open Mambukal Mountain Resort for tourist despite that the province has been placed under Modified General Community Quarantine for more than a quarter now.

According to Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz the province do not want to encourage people for now to go to resorts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He added that in as much as they want Mambukal to open to the public as soon as possible, they don’t want to take unnecessary risks and start an epidemic there. Currently the resort is being utilize as a quarantine facility of the provincial government.

If the health situation will gets better by next year, Diaz said Mambukal could open to the public.

Prior to the pandemic, the resort is one of the biggest incoming generating investments of the provincial government under its economic enterprise cluster.
