Bacolod City residents are advised to prepare for a long power outage scheduled for Sunday, May 21.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced the shutdown of its Bacolod-Reclamation 69kV transmission line, which will affect several substations operated by Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO).
During this downtime, CENECO will take advantage of the situation to carry out simultaneous maintenance works.
The power outage is scheduled to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will impact various areas, including the Asdes-Gonzaga and Reclamation substations, as well as the Gaisano Substation.

Residents and businesses within these affected areas should make necessary arrangements to minimize any inconveniences caused by the temporary loss of electricity.
The maintenance works planned by NGCP and CENECO include preventive maintenance activities, correction of defects in the Bacolod-Reclamation associated high voltage equipment, integrity testing of fault clearance systems, and replacement of rotten primary poles. Additionally, tree clearing activities will be conducted to ensure reliable power supply in the future.
