The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force adopted the implementation of IATF Resolution 104, barring residents from the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal and Laguna to travel outside of their region.

In a one-pager memorandum to the local government units released today, the RIATF underscores that returning residents of Region 6 coming from NCR+ are temporarily restricted to enter the region starting today, March 23, until April 4. The same rule applies to tourists who are planning to visit the region.

But government officials, medical frontliners, persons seeking medical care, returning overseas Filipinos and those going to the airport for travel abroad are exempted from the restriction.

In a separate statement, the Department of Tourism in Region 6 had asked hotels and tourist destinations around the region to extend the validity of all bookings of individuals who are affected by this latest travel restriction.

In relation to this, Philippine Airlines said in a travel advisory that it will only carry essential travelers and passengers traveling for non-leisure purposes between Manila and domestic stations within the said period.

Domestic leisure travelers affected by these restrictions may avail of any of the following options:

  1. Convert your ticket to a Travel Voucher (request until June 30, 2021)
  2. Avail of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021. If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge.
  3. Refund your ticket without penalties.

Essential travelers must present valid identification showing proof of residence, on top of other requirements of their respective LGUs.
