Lopue’s Araneta, one of the oldest supermarkets and retail stores in the downtown area of Bacolod City, has announced the temporary shutdown of its store along Araneta Street until further notice.

The management said in a statement released through its Facebook page that it is temporarily closing its doors due to “unforeseen electrical issues”.

The decision to temporarily pause its operation takes effect today, March 17, following an incident involving their electrical lines this morning. However, when contacted by Negros News Online via phone, the company did not disclose the details of the incident.

Situated less than a block away from the old city hall and the public plaza, Lopue’s Araneta offers a wide range of products, including groceries, home essentials, school & office supplies and other items.

The management seeks the understanding of its customers as it takes necessary steps to remediate the situation.
