LCC senior high school students advance to finals of DOST’s π’Šπ’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’†.π’˜π’†π’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’† competition

La Consolacion College Bacolod’s Senior High School STEM strand team has made it to the finals of the 6th π’Šπ’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’†.π’˜π’†π’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’† Competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology, making them the sole team to qualify from the Western Visayas region.

The team’s impressive proposal, titled Project M.H.A.Y.A (Maintenance and Harvest Automation using YOLO Algorithm): A Solar-powered Hydroponic Mushroom Farming Device, caught the attention of the judges, securing their spot in DOST’s in-person technical training, workshop, and mentoring in Manila from March 13 to 17, 2023.

The team members, including Arianna Alexa Amedo, Mikylla Bucabal, Geson Cabalatungan, and Andrew Eroyla, will undergo intensive technical training and mentoring as they compete for the championship title. Led by Coach Mr. Felix Dalida and STEM Strand Chair Mr. Jomil Villanueva, the LCCB team was able to outshine entries from across the country to secure their place in the finals.

The LCCB team’s success in reaching the finals of the esteemed competition highlights the institution’s dedication to providing quality education and training.
