Jan Marie Bordon, a 4th year student from La Consolacion College-Bacolod, is amongst the 40 candidates vying for the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 crown. She passed the rigorous screening held at the Crowne Plaza Manila last February 18, as announced by Miss Universe Philippines.

In October 2022, Bordon won the Miss Bacolod MassKara International title and will officially represent the City of Bacolod in the competition. She replaced Miss Bacolod MassKara Universe Kara Daniela Villarosa as Bacolod’s official candidate after Villarosa withdrew her slot due to a conflict with her studies.

Becoming a candidate for Miss Universe Philippines requires not only beauty, but also intellect and advocacy. Bordon plans to use her platform to promote the city’s tourism destinations, the friendly nature of its people, and the MassKara Festival.

The Miss Universe Philippines pageant has always been highly anticipated in the country. It is a platform that not only celebrates beauty, but also promotes diversity and inclusivity. It is a chance for women to inspire and make a difference in the world.

Bordon is excited to represent her city and showcase the best of what it has to offer. She hopes to inspire young women to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact in their communities.

Carlos Durana, Miss Bacolod MassKara chairperson, hopes that Borbon will inspire other Bacolod beauties to join future pageants.
