A P10 million agricultural fund subsidy for local farmers in Kabankalan was launched last October 20.
Dubbed as 50:50 scheme program, Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr said the objective of the program is to help the agriculture sector achieved security in this pandemic.
A total of 72 farmer associations in the city are expected to avail of the program where the farmers will pay only 50% of the market price of 14-14-14 fertilizer and the other 50% will be shouldered by the LGU. The city has allotted 3,571 sacks of fertilizes for the first group of farmers and 4,237 sacks for the second batch.
“We must understand that the main source of consumption needs is from agriculture production. This program will provide farmers increased their income capita and improve growth rate yield,” explained Zayco during the program.
He was also joined by Vice Mayor Raul Rivera, SPM Efren Gaspillo, SPM Jeanna Cordova and SPM Helen Zafra who delivered short messages to inspire the farmers. SPM Migs Zayco, SPM Jerzy Guanzon, SPM Roger Regalia, SPM Celestino Dumaguete and SPM Joestar Bandojo graced the activity with their presence.
