“It’s Showtime” to premiere on GMA’s GTV on July 1, ending TV rivalry

ABS-CBN and GMA Network have announced a co-production agreement to bring “It’s Showtime” to GMA’s second free-to-air channel, GTV, starting from July 1.

The contract signing took place at Seda Hotel Vertis, attended by top executives from both companies and the hosts of “It’s Showtime.”

The popular noontime variety show will now be accessible on GTV, available on various platforms including free TV, TVplus, GMA Affordabox, SKYcable, Cignal, GSat, and Destiny Cable.

ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak expressed gratitude to GMA for accepting “It’s Showtime” and embracing ABS-CBN. GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon stated that with the signing and the move of the show to GTV, the competition or “TV war” is finally over.

Representatives from ABS-CBN included Chairman Mark L. Lopez, COO for broadcast Cory V. Vidanes, and OIC for finance group Vincent Paul Piedad. GMA was represented by President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and SVP for programming, talent management, worldwide, and support group, and President and CEO of GMA Films Annette Gozon-Valdes.

The event was graced by the presence of “It’s Showtime” hosts, including Vice Ganda, Ogie Alcasid, Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, Jackie Gonzaga, Amy Perez, Jugs Jugueta, Cianne Dominguez, MC, Lassy, and Teddy Corpuz, who expressed their gratitude to the bosses of GMA and ABS-CBN and are excited to connect with Kapuso viewers.

For the past 14 years, “It’s Showtime” has entertained viewers with its unique segments. The show has showcased Filipino talent through “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and its current edition, “TNT Duets.” It also features heartwarming and inspiring stories of contestants in segments like “Mini Ms. U,” “Isip Bata,” and “Rampanalo.”

Apart from GTV, “It’s Showtime” will continue to air on the Kapamilya channel, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.
