Starting tomorrow, August 4, the City of Iloilo decided to suspend all inter-island travels based on the latest executive order issued by Mayor Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City.

The mayor said that he is forced to order a hard lockdown in an effort to curb the rising cases of COVID-19 in their locality, especially with the detection of Delta variant.

But even before the mayor’s order take effect, Frank Carbon, operator of Weesam Express said in a radio interview that they will temporarily suspend their trips between Bacolod and Iloilo starting today, August 3, in response to the hard lockdown enforced by Iloilo.

In a Facebook post, operator OceanJet announced that they are also cancelling their trips today until August 8. All ticketing offices at the port are also closed.

Both Supercat and Fast Cat are yet to confirm if trips for today are also suspended.

As for Roll-on, Roll-off operations, no confirmation yet as of posting time if trips will be canceled.
