Your faceshield may not yet rest in peace after the National Inter-Agency Task Force clarified today, November 19 that establishments and employers have prerogative to require its use, both to customers and workers.

In its updated guidelines, IATF clarified that in areas under Alert Level 1 to 3 the government’s directive for the voluntary use of faceshield is without prejudice to employers still requiring their employees and customers for its use while in their premises.

In Bacolod City, the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been advising their member establishments to retain the use faceshield.

As for the requirement of only fully vaccinated workers may allow to return for onsite work by December 1, the IATF clarified that partially vaccinated, whose second dose is not yet due will be exempted from the regular RT-PCR testing.

But workers who choose not to get vaccinated will be required to get tested at least once every 2 weeks in order to render onsite work.

The government, including the city of Bacolod, is holding a massive vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1 to encourage more Filipinos to get vaccinated.
