As cases of COVID-19 rise anew, the national Inter-Agency Task Force has placed the entire Western Visayas under Alert Level 3.
The new alert status will take effect on January 16 and will last until the end of the month.
Earlier, IATF has already placed the highly urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo at a stricter alert level forcing fastcrafs operating between the 2 cities to temporarily halt their operations.
Meanwhile, Vallacar Transit, the operator of Ceres Liner, said that it will now require a negative swab test for all its passenger traveling from Cebu to Negros Occidental.
