Globe Business, a trusted partner of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), hosted a two-day event called Retail Revolution on June 27 and 28 at the SM Megamall Atrium Activity Center. The event aimed to stimulate dialogue on the future of retail in a tech-enabled world and support MSMEs in their digital transformation journey.

The Philippine retail industry plays a critical role in the country’s economy, with over 93,537 MSMEs recorded in 2020, providing employment opportunities to over 1.1 million individuals, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority. In recent years, the retail sector has witnessed significant disruption, with many businesses adapting to the rise of e-commerce. In light of this changing landscape, Retail Revolution served as a platform for MSMEs to adapt to the transformed consumer landscape and foster continuous economic recovery.

KD Dizon, Vice President at Globe Business, emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the evolving business landscape.

Dizon stated, “We envision a future where tech-enabled businesses become the norm in retail. Globe Business is committed to helping MSMEs thrive amid this change, revolutionizing their retail strategies and contributing to the recovery and resilience of our economy.”

Retail Revolution is part of Globe Business’ annual Saludo SMEs initiative, which aligns with the United Nations International MSME Day on June 27.

The event aimed to bring to life the concept of Connected Retail, a strategy that seamlessly blends the physical and digital shopping experiences. It offered customized marketing solutions, improved supply chain management, various payment options, and empowering tools for MSMEs to succeed in the modern retail landscape.

During the event, Globe Business highlighted essential products and services such as GPlan Biz, a customizable mobile plan that scales with businesses, and GFiber Biz, an enhanced business connectivity solution. In addition, various ICT solutions were showcased, including an E-Commerce Website Builder by Prosperna, In-App Commerce by ChatGenie, Inventory Management Solution, Managed CCTV, Globe Business-grade Broadband and WiFi, m360 messaging platform, Vehicle Tracker, and Cloud Payroll.

One of the highlights of Retail Revolution was a fireside chat featuring industry leaders discussing the seamless integration of online and offline shopping experiences. The event also featured a pop-up store where attendees could observe and experience firsthand how connected retail operates.

Retail Revolution was held in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Go Negosyo. By providing valuable insights into revolutionized retail and equipping MSMEs with the right tools and partners for digital transformation, Retail Revolution underscored its significance in the revitalization and advancement of the Philippine retail sector.
