The Bacolod City Government, upon instruction of Mayor Bing Leonardia, distributed 9,800 face shields to the vendors of the 3 major public markets (Burgos, Central, and Libertad), flower market, and Manokan Country, and to the transport sector (drivers of PUJ, tricycle, and trisikad).
The face shields, which came from the City DRRMO, were distributed by the Sectoral Concerns Office, from November 4 until 23.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod recently passed City Ordinance 944 that requires the mandatory use of face shields in certain places in the City.
Section 3 of CO 944 states that “in addition to mandatory use of face mask, face shield shall be used while inside supermarkets, public markets, malls, venues for meetings (private or government service initiated); venues where private or government services are provided; all enclosed offices or establishments doing business; public transportation or public utility vehicles and enclosed work places.
