A former saleslady from Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City was the grand winner of the new year raffle of Bacolod City.
The 22-year-old Gelline Gayaran Alunan claimed the Toyota Vios as her grand prize yesterday, January 3 at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), with Vice Mayor Elcid Familiaran representing for Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.
Alunan whose job as a saleslady ended last October said that her family is so happy to have won the new car and she did not expect that she would be the lucky winner since thousand of Bacolodnons had also join the raffle organized by Benitez.
While she does not yet have a valid driver’s license, Alunan said that she intends to keep the car and will decide how to best use it. She plans to take driving lessons.
Alunan together with her family went for a spin around Bacolod on board their new car after they receive the key from Familiaran.
She thanked Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Rep. Greg Gasataya and the other city officials for the car.
