Former DOT-Western Visayas reg’l director appointed as tourism consultant in Bacolod

Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has recently appointed Christine Mansinares, former Department of Tourism-Western Visayas regional director and Negros Occidental tourism officer, as the special adviser for the city’s tourism affairs.

In his executive order signed on March 27, Benitez said Mansinares will support the city’s efforts in strengthening its tourism programs and advocacies.

According to Mayor Benitez, the rehabilitation and recovery of the city’s tourism industry is a complex undertaking that requires advice and assistance from individuals with extensive experience and knowledge on tourism.

Benitez explained that with Mansinares’ familiarity with the tourism industry as the previous regional director of the DOT in Region 6 and the tourism officer of Negros Occidental, this greatly aid Bacolod City in improving and strengthening its tourism programs and projects.

Mansinares’ appointment is also expected to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided in Bacolod City’s tourism sector.
