A flash flood hit in Sitio Guiwanon in Brgy. IV, Sipalay City, yesterday afternoon, April 7 due to hours of heavy rain.
According to Dionilo Bogtae, head of the Sipalay Emergency Assistance and Rescue Services, flood water occurred at past 3PM that reached up to waist level but it also subsided soon after.
In a thunderstorm advisory released by the Office of the Civil Defense in Region 6 at 2:30PM, yesterday, it said that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds were
experienced in Sipalay City, Binalbagan, Himamaylan City, Valladolid, San Enrique, La Carlota City, Pontevedra, Candoni, Hinigaran, La Castellana, portion of Hinoba-an, portion of Kabankalan City, portion of Ilog.
This was brought by the low pressure that was spotted in Surigao del Sur.
