The fire which started around 2:40 p.m. at the concrete structure located along Quezon Street, Barangay Poblacion 1, rapidly spread the entire building which damage its servers and cable wires.

Initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Sagay suggest faulty electrical wiring as the probable cause of the inferno.

The incident was elevated to a second alarm, prompting response from fire trucks and brigades from neighboring areas. Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours before it was finally brought under control.

The incident resulted in no signal for internet and cable television in Sagay and Escalante City.
