Face-to-face classes final; all schools to resume classes by Nov 2

The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued a department order for the resumption of full face-to-face classes by November 2, in all public and private schools around the country.

According to DepEd Order No. 034, series of 2022, the academic year for elementary and secondary schools, as well as community learning centers (CLCs), is set to open on August 22, with the holding 5 days in-person classes to start in November.

In its guidelines, DepEd said: “Starting November 2, 2022, all public and private schools shall have transitioned to five days of in-person classes. After the said date, no school shall be allowed to implement purely distance learning or blended learning except for those that are implementing Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM).”

As of the latest, only 52 schools under Negros Occidental Division were approved for a limited face-to-face classes. A total of 481 elementary schools and 100 high schools are under the Negros Occidental Division.
