A proposal for the experimental opening of 5 additional routes at Ayala Malls Capitol Central this December was approved by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Council (BTAC).

The proposed routes include those from Homesite, Fortune Towne, Alijis, Eroreco, and Shopping-La Salle.

Patrick Lacson, the officer-in-charge of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, revealed that the mall offered a 3,700 square meters terminal near San Juan Street or beside the mall’s parking area for modernized jeepneys.

Lacson expressed his support for this proposal, especially as it will also serve those heading to the provincial capitol and benefits the 5,000 employees of Ayala Malls.

Aside from this, it will also benefit PUJ passengers heading to Hall of Justice, PhilPost and the National Bureau of Investigation, as it will cut transport cost to half.

Lacson however emphasized the need for further consultation with transport groups and other stakeholders to finalize the plan.

To proceed with the plan, an approved resolution from the Sangguniang Panlungsod is required. A similar traffic experiment was implemented in several routes during the leadership of former BTAO Head Luisito Acebuche.
