Organizers of the Visual Arts Exhibition and Conference (VIVA Excon) appeared yesterday before the Bacolod Emergency Operations Center and made it clear that the party that took place in the Art District last week was not arranged by their organization.

Mr. Manny Montelibano, Director of VIVA Excon, who was summoned by the EOC, reiterated its earlier statement that no party had ever happened in relation to their event, but just a simulation for the virtual opening of the event. He further added that the simulation only lasted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. that day.

The alleged party, according to him, took place at night, when their event was over. He added that the band that played at the party had not been hired by their group, but by a restaurant operating at the same venue.

The viral video circulating online has prompted the EOC to investigate the breach of the health protocols set by the health authorities while the city is under General Community Quarantine. As seen in the video, a group of people were seen partying with a live band on the background without observing social distancing and the lack of face mask and shield.
