The Emergency Operations Center of Bacolod reported today, November 25, a sharp decline of COVID-19 positive cases following the completion of the latest targeted testing.

EOC Chair Em Ang said nearly 2,000 individuals were screened last week and only 4 were confirmed positive. Ang disclosed that 1,800 of the 2,000 tested are employees of one of the biggest business operator in the city. She however, did not disclose the name of the company.

The remaining individuals according to Ang are from the local branch of Government Services Insurance System, and all tested negative.

Based on the current trend, Ang happily reported that Bacolod is now able to contain the spread of the virus, contrary to rumors being spread online that the drop in cases was due to the the lack of testing.

Ang pointed out that the city is one of the few local government units that is continually doing targeted testing and surveillance testing.

Next week, Ang said that the city targets to subject food delivery riders and members of the transportation group for testing. The testing will run from November 27-30.
