President Rodrigo Duterte arrived in Kabankalan City Hall late this afternoon, December 20 to personally assess the havoc brought by super typhoon Odette.
The president was joined by Gov. Eugenio Lacson, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade and Department of Health Secretary Francisco Doque for a situational briefing.
The president then led the ceremonial distribution of food packs, repair kits, and hygiene kits, amounting to P5.7Million.
Aside from Kabankalan, the DSWD likewise provided food packs in the following areas in Negros: Bago Clty, 2000; Candoni, 400; log, 3100; Sipalay, 1,400; Hinobaan, 300; Himamaylan, 300; Cauayan, 900; and San Enrique, 550.
Meanwhile, Tugade said the transport department also turned over donation from the DOTr Road Sector, led by Asec Steve Pastor, and Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region VI, led by Asec. Edgar Galvante and RD Eric Tabaldo.
This is proof of the relentless action of other DOTr sectors to immediately deliver aid, large or small, to our countrymen, said Tugade.
