Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar could confirms today, February 13, the completion of the prefeasibility study for the Panay-Negros-Guimaras bridge (PGN).
In a Facebook post, DPWH Sec. Villar said: “We have already completed the prefeasibility study for the 32.47 km Panay Guimaras Negros Bridge.”

The secretary further said that they are now on the final stages of the feasibility study. The 32-km PGN bridge is composed of two phases: the Panay-Guimaras bridge which totals 13kms and the Guimaras-Negros at 19.37kms.
Under the proposal, the bridge will start in Pulupandan town in Negros. The Panay-Guimaras segment will be composed of a 13.10-kilometer road, including a 4.80-kilometer bridge, that will start from Brgy. Gua-an, Leganes, Iloilo, and end at Brgy. Getulio, Buenavista Guimaras.
Iloilo Senator Franklin Drilon in a previous statement said that the proposed PGN bridge is a dream of the people of Region 6 that remains to be fulfilled.
